Scrabble Mania

My name is Darren and I'm a Scrabble addict.

There, I've said it. Apparently admitting it is the first step. I was resigned to going to bed last night, nice and early, in order to shake this feeling of low energy nastiness. What do I do instead? I start playing Scrabble against my PC.

Of course it's all my Mums fault. She loves a good game of Scrabble and would often encourage me to play when I was younger. I'm very grateful for that really, as I am often surprised that my knowledge of the English language is that much better than many of my friends or colleagues. Mind you, I was a sad kid who would often sit and read the dictionary or other such reference material, so maybe I should be grateful that I didn't turn into a complete nerd.

Last nights bout of this affliction took me to 2am. Not hideously late but, considering I was up at 7, it didn't leave room for my usual 9 hours kip.

Whilst I'm on this theme here's a couple of words to get you out of tricky situations when stuck with high value letters:

Xi A greek letter

Zo (or Zho) A type of antelope

Qi A variant spelling of Chi, meaning 'good energy' in Oriental cultures

What do you mean you didn't need to know that? :o)
