No Broadband & No TV Make Darren A Sad Boy
OK I admit it. I'm a shameless example of the digital age and I get withdrawal from my technology. We have been in residence at the new premises for 6 days now and, aside from a few plumbing issues and the fact that the downstairs floor still doesn't exist, everything is going well. I'm just missing my Sky Digital and my ADSL line.
How sad! I hear you cry, and you'd be right. Although it has to be said, when I lived in Twickenham I survived with no TV for over 6 months so I'm overreacting somewhat.
The move last Friday was performed by 4 guys and a truck, while PK and myself busied ourselves cleaning the flat until it was spotless. I wish the previous owners of this house had done the same. It was a complete and utter mess when we moved in. The bathroom was disgusting and I don't think the oven had been cleaned in about 4 years! It took me the best part of an hour and a half to clean just the oven racks this morning.
The theory goes that, this time next week, everything will be nearing completion. We'll have a floor downstairs, hot water, possibly a carpet, ADSL and all the kitchen appliances. I'll post the piccies I promised below at that point.

Housie Housie
As of 31st August, PK has been the proud owner of a house. It's a lovely Victorian terrace house with two bedrooms and we shall be taking up residence on the 10th September.
You may be wondering 'Why the gap?'. Well at present there are works being carried out to safeguard the house from damp, as a lot of the internals have been there since 1881 and the wear and tear of the years have left it with little protection from the elements. As such, it is now being brought up to date by a group of builders, whilst we pack our worldly goods into boxes again.
Last time I did this it became a bit of a life laundry and I got rid of about 8 bin liners full o' crap. I wonder what I'll offload this time?
When the house is done, I'll post a few piccies.

Death
This week I have been mainly lying on my back groaning, and not in a good way!
Some evil, nasty virus climbed aboard my body and played havoc with every system for 5 days straight. I had a temperature of 102 Fahrenheit which meant I was sweating buckets, blocked sinuses, major headache, joint pain, spinal pain and a nasty cough. I must have looked a million dollars!
Lucky for me I had PK to nursemaid me through it all or I wouldn't have had any vitamin tablets or paracetamol and I'd have starved. I really do not miss living on my own.
